Michael J. Hartman - Artistic Director 

As Artistic Director for Ocean City New Jersey’s Professional Stock Type Theatre Company and Staging Director for the Ocean City POPS, Mike has Directed/Choreographed: Joseph, The World Goes Round, Seussical, Grand Night For Singing, Grease, Forum, The Wizard of Oz and Bye Bye Birdie. When not running the Summer Broadway Series, Mike oversees the theatre education programs for OCTC and the City of Ocean City Dept. of Recreation.  Mike is also the Staging Director and Choreographer for East Bradford Elementary School in West Chester, PA and Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, PA. In 2009, Mike joined the Cabrini College Theatre Department as Choreographer for their Musical Theatre program. Mike has also served as Choreographer for Roxy Regional Theatre of TN where he worked on such shows as My Way, High School Musical, Grease, Seussical, and The Full Monty.
 
Favorite Professional Performing Credits: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Huck Finn), The Wild Party (Sam), A Chorus Line (Don), Surflight Christmas Spectacular, Plain and Fancy (Ezra), Footloose (Ren), La Cage (Lo Singh), Aida (Ensemble/Dance Captain), Molly Brown (Roberts/Dance Captain), Hersheypark and Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere).  Michael was also a singer/dancer for “Spirit Cruises” and performed in a 4 person revue at the National Constitution Center. He was also featured in the benefit show “Broadway By The Bay” at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
 
Mike is responsible for Pageant Production and Choreography in over 20 states and the Virgin Islands, as well as, four Miss America Preliminary Titles, the National Pre-Teen Pageant, America’s National Sweetheart, and the America’s National Teenager Talent, Essay and Modeling Competition. His work has been recognized for three years in the row as “Best Production” for NJ National Teenager and recognized nationally as Outstanding Pageant Production by the Turn For The Judges Magazine.             

Currently, Mike serves on the Advisory Board for Cultural Affairs at West Chester University.

Pat McMullen - Technical Director

Pat is originally from the Trenton, NJ area, but has been a freelance lighting designer in the South Jersey area for the last few years.  He has a B.A. in Theatre Production/Design from the Richard Stockton College of NJ.  Past lighting design credits include The Good Doctor, Crumbs From the Table of Joy at Stockton; A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine at Camden County College; The Wizard of Oz and Annie Jr. with the Margate Players; A Grand Night for Singing with the OC POPS; Dust at The Baldwin School; and designed the 2008 OCTC season productions of Forum, Oz and 42nd Street.. 

 

He received a KCACTF Certificate of Merit for his design of A Lover/A Slight Ache and the 2008 KCACTF Region II Award for Excellence in Lighting Design for his design of A Comb and a Prayer Book.  He is the Technical Director for the Atlantic City Ballet and the House Lighting Designer at the OC Music Pier.



Laura Bretherick - Production Stage Manager


Laura Bretherick grew up in Ventnor, NJ and graduated from Wagner College in 2008 having earned a BA in theatre with a concentration in stage management. While attending school, she interned as an assistant stage manager for The New Jersey Opera Theatre for their summer production of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte. She also studied abroad in London where she interned for the Kings Head Theatre.  After graduating, she worked off Broadway with The Pearl Theatre Company as an assistant stage manager for the 2008 - 2009 season.  At the Pearl, she worked on Vieux Carre, Tartuffe, Twelfth Night, Nathan The Wise, and The Oedipus Cycle.  Her time with the GOCTC began in 2009 with Little Shop of Horrors and went on to include Oklahoma, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Anything Goes, and A ChristmasWonderland with the professional company as well as stage managing GOCTC Jr.s company production of The Magic of Broadway. She traveled with the GOCTC as the touring stage manager the regional tours of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and A Christmas Wonderland. She will be returning this summer to stage manager GOCTC's productions of The Music Man, Annie, Cats, and the Jr. company's production of Godspell.

 


JUSTIN D. MAC Company Manager/Audio Engineer/Graphic Design


Justin received both a BA in Theatre Performance and a BA in Philosophy from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and has most recently performed as Seymour in OCTC’s production of Little Shop of Horrors. He has six Irene Ryan nominations for acting and three certificates of merit for design work. Some of his favorite roles include, Clarín in Sueño, Albert Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Snoopy in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Major Saranoff in Arms and The Man. Design credits include nominations for set and multimedia design for The Laramie Project and multimedia design for Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Some of his most recent credits include Mr. Mayor in Seussical: the Musical, and The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz with the Ocean City Theatre Company. In addition to acting and designing Justin’s work also includes direction, stage management, and multimedia/graphic design. www.justindmac.com
