The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company is seeking to hire the following positions for the 2024 Summer Season:

-Theatre Arts Education: Summer Director
-Theatre Arts Educators: Camp Counselors

-Director and/or Choreographers for TYA Series
-Director, Choreographer, and Music Director for High School Student Production
-Director, Choreographer, and Music Director for Middle School Student Production
-Scene shop staff and stage crew for load-ins, load-outs, and run crew.

Job Descriptions:

Theatre Arts Education Director’s duties include planning and overseeing all summer theatre education experiences, which range from camps and classes for students ages 5 to 16. Previous experience as a theatre educator is required. Must be comfortable hiring and supervising all education staff members with a strong understanding of developing theatre curricula for students of varying ability levels. While this is a management role, day to day teaching will be required. Criminal History Background and Child Abuse checks are required. Part-time temporary position with an hourly rate of $15.00-$17.00 an hour based on experience. Start date: mid-June, end date: mid-August.

Theatre Arts Education Camp Counselor duties include leading campers in choreographed dances, teaching & playing theatre games and various scenes throughout each camp performance. Each camp has a different age group, theme & final showcase on the last day of camp. Campers range from 5 years old to 14 years old. Criminal History Background and Child Abuse checks are required.
Part-time temporary position with an hourly rate of $15.00-$18.00 an hour based on experience. Start date: mid-June, end date: mid-August.

The Scenic Artist creates designs, executes, and completes production of scenic and prop art projects. This position acts as a support to the company as a whole and produces designs, scenery, painting, and signage for custom art projects within company productions. Part-time temporary position that is contracted per show. Contract ranges are approximate and will be solidified based on the specific needs of each production. (Mainstage Shows – $800-$1,200, TYA shows – $175-$350, Junior Company Shows – $800-$1,200). Start date: early-June, end date: mid-August.

Costume Designer and Shop Technician Duties include designing specialty costumes, pulling costumes, and coordinating rental needs. Key abilities include sewing (by machine and by hand), alterations, repairs, ironing, laundry, fittings, costume crafts, and other assignments based upon skill set and shop needs. Criminal History Background and Child Abuse checks are required. Part-time temporary position that is contracted per show. Contract ranges are approximate and will be solidified based on the specific needs of each production. (Mainstage Shows – $800-$1,500, TYA shows – $200-$400, Junior Company Shows – $800-$1,500). Start date: mid-June, end date: mid-August.

Seeking Directors, Choreographers, and/or Music Directors for productions in our 2024 TYA SERIES (Garfield, Charlotte’s Web, Snow White, Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus, and The Perfect Dog). Experience with staging shows that rely on creativity and embraces education opportunities is required. The ideal candidate will not only direct, choreograph, and collaborate with their fellow staff members on the creation of shows, but will also have a positive attitude, creative mind, collaborative nature. Music is tracked, but music directors are encouraged to be at performances. Criminal History Background and Child Abuse checks are required. A Director/Choreographer contract range is $600-$775 per production, Director only contract range is $400-$500, Choreographer only contract range is $275-$375. Music Director contract range is $275-$375. Rehearsals begin mid-June. Performances run 7/11 – 8/1.

Seeking Directors, Choreographers, and/or Music Directors, for OCTC’s High School student production of ANYTHING GOES. This individual should love working with children and be confident teaching ages 14-18. Experience directing and choreographing youth theater is essential. The ideal candidate will not only direct, choreograph, and collaborate with their fellow staff members on the creation of shows, but have a positive attitude, creative mind, collaborative nature. Music is tracked, but music directors are encouraged to be at performance. Rights & Royalties pending, Pay is based on participation but there is a range goal of $1,000-$1,300 for Music Directors and $1,200 – $1,800 for Directors or Choreographers. Auditions will be in May, Rehearsals begin early-June with performances at the end of July. Criminal History Background and Child Abuse checks are required

Music is tracked, but music directors are encouraged to be at performance. Stage crew members and scene shop staff will be responsible for assisting with the construction, assembling, disassembling, and maintenance of sets during theater productions and backstage shifts during performances.Crew members must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and can provide their own basic tools.
